Who Are We?
The IRPCMH is the Université du Québec en Outaouais’ Interdisplinary Research Program on Children’s Mental Health. Headed by Dr. Sébastien Normand, the IRPCMH is a research group comprised of doctoral and undergraduate psychology students who are interested in both mental health and peer relationships in childhood and adolescence. Our collaborators have backgrounds in a number of disciplines and come from regions around the world, including Australia, Canada, Cuba, England, the United States of America, and Puerto Rico. Current Projects and Recent Achievements
At the IRPCMH, our goal is to research and promote mental health in children and adolescents. We are particularly interested in the relationship between friendships and mental health in youth. For example, we are currently developing and evaluating innovative parent intervention programs geared towards promoting high-quality friendships and mental health in children. This project is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). The co-Principal Investigators are Dr. Amori Mikami from the University of British Columbia and Dr. Sébastien Normand from the Université du Québec en Outaouais. More information...
